Sound Quality
Despite extensive digital features, the 232 remains rooted in Burmester’s analog expertise. Its warm, detailed, and powerful sound is driven by high-end operational amplifiers and a newly designed volume control. A dual-mono power supply ensures stability, minimal crosstalk, and a precise stereo image.
Modularity
The 232 operates as a standalone integrated amp or as a versatile digital/analog processor. We include the DAC as standard with all orders. The new D/A converter supports internal and external digital sources up to 768 kHz/32-bit, including DSD. The optional phono module is derived from Burmester’s Reference Series, ensuring top-tier analog playback.
Design
The first product in Burmester’s new aesthetic, the 232 features refined lines, a floating appearance, and an optimized heat sink. A mix of matte and glossy surfaces creates an elegant, room-friendly presence.
Control Concept
The new Burmester app, onboard HMI, and remote control simplify operation. A mirrored spy-glass display fades when inactive, while touch sensors remain hidden until needed. The monochrome display supports multiple languages, enhancing usability.
Innovative Rotary Encoder
The new rotary encoder integrates haptic feedback, adjusting resistance and detents based on function. It replaces the power switch and enhances the user experience with precise control over inputs, volume, and playback.
Streaming & SBC
A powerful Single Board Computer (SBC) serves as the 232’s central interface, providing Gigabit LAN, WiFi, Bluetooth, and future upgradeability. The optional DAC module enables eARC HDMI connectivity, while USB ports support Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android. A Linux-based Core Logic system ensures seamless operation and optimal audio processing.
