The PF-1e is a simplified, economical version of the PF-1 MK2 power strip. Keeping a similar architecture of the main filter allowed for the same level of protection to the connected devices, while savings in used components lowered its price significantly. Nevertheless the PF-1e is a brilliant device, which will prove itself in each – even very advanced audio-video system.

Designing the PF-1e we resigned from the most expensive components. This does not mean, that we used lower quality items or lowered the level of guaranteed safety. The architecture of the main anti-interference filter and the overvoltage protection remained unchanged compared to the PF-1 MK2 strip. Interference is blocked by a RLC filter block.

Why grey screens ?

The concept of the grey screen was first introduced by Stewart Filmscreen with their Grayhawk product in 2001, and grey screens have become immensely popular ever since.

Grey screens are often called high contrast screens because their purpose is to boost contrast on digital projectors in viewing rooms that are not entirely dark. The grey screen absorbs ambient light that strikes it better than a white screen does. In so doing the black level on the screen is maintained. This works because, assuming the projector has ample lumen output as most digital projectors do, whites remain satisfyingly white while blacks are maintained at a deeper black. The net effect is to increase the contrast range of the image on the screen.
